The Board of Education has been working on the security at the schools, particularly with the upgrades of exterior doors and the addition of vestibules at main entrances.

Metal detectors are also now installed and in use at WOK and Hillside High School.

Students, parents/guardians and visitors will be subject to search when entering the buildings.  The cooperation of everyone will help in maintaining an orderly entry process.

Please keep in mind the following that will assist with the screening process:

Ø  Bins/tables are available for placing cellphones and other electronic devices

Ø  Pockets will need to be emptied of other metallic devices/articles.

Ø  Box cutters

Ø  Firearms

Ø  Knives, multi-tools, scissors, etc.

All book bags, handbags and the like will be searched upon entry to the buildings.

Students, parents/guardians and visitors are asked to always follow the instructions of the security officers, school administrators and other school officials.  Failure to do so may result in individuals being denied entrance to the schools.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work together toward maintaining the highest degree of safety and security at our schools while being as welcoming and non-intrusive as possible.
